The big experiment by McDonald’s in San Diego to test whether the chain should serve breakfast after 10:30 a.m. was scheduled to begin Monday, but a preview event will take place Saturday morning in Kearny Mesa.
The McDonald’s outlet on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, just east of state Route 163, will offer up Egg McMuffins, sausage burritos, hash browns and other morning chow until 12:30 p.m.
The restaurant will hand out prizes to customers, including one who will receive a year’s worth of breakfast sandwiches.
Beginning Monday, 94 McDonald’s eateries in San Diego County will serve breakfast all day.
Company officials have said tight kitchen space has kept them from serving breakfast past 10:30 a.m.
