Born the day after Christmas, a baby Western lowland gorilla at the San Diego Zoo has been a gift to photographers and primate-lovers around the world — a star on People magazine’s website.
Still unnamed, the tiny gorilla clings to his mother’s back and front. On Saturday, dozens crowded to get selfies and other snaps of the baby.
The Balboa Park zoo’s other youngsters, including a 15-month-old orangutan named Aisha, also put on shows the last day of January.
The gorilla’s mother is 34-year-old Jessica. The silverback father is Paul Donn, 26. All are considered a highly endangered species.
