Big waves continue to roll onto San Diego County beaches as one winter storm has passed through, but another storm is on the way early this week, the National Weather Service forecasts.
“A winter storm from the North Pacific arriving late Monday night or early Tuesday could bring three-quarters of an inch to an inch-and-a-quarter of rain west of the mountains through Wednesday night,” forecaster Tina Stall said Sunday.
Stall said a high surf advisory is no longer in effect, but added that elevated surf continues to pose a beach hazard.
Stall said temperatures Sunday night could drop to near freezing tonight in the mountains.
The long-range forecast calls for a small chance of rain again next Saturday, Stall said.
