The House of Israel is planning an early celebration of the Jewish Festival of Lights during December Nights in Balboa Park this weekend.
The house, one of the 32 international houses in the park, will celebrate Chanukah by serving traditional latkes (potato pancakes) and sofganiyot (jelly filled doughnuts) from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Adults can sample Hebrew beer, Sabra liqueur, Aviv Vodka, and Yarden Wine in the International Spirits Garden.
Doron Peisic and Band will perform Israeli music on Saturday at 4 p.m. on the stage outside of the House of Israel.
More than 300,000 visitors are expected to experience December Nights, San Diego’s largest free community festival.
