The Miramar Road/La Jolla Village exit from southbound Interstate 805 will be closed Friday night through Monday morning so crews can pave the road in the area.

Construction crews plan to close the offramp at 5 p.m. and reopen it at 5 a.m. Monday, according to Caltrans.

Caltrans issued the freeway alert to warn motorists to either exit the freeway at:

  • Mira Mesa Boulevard and head east to southbound Camino Santa Fe, then turn eastbound or westbound onto Miramar Road, or
  • Governor Drive, turn left under the freeway and take northbound Interstate 805 to the Miramar Road/La Jolla Village exit.

Detour signs will be in place, Caltrans said.

Caltrans officials said the work is part of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project, which will add one carpool lane in each direction from north of state Route 52 to north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. There also will be a new direct access ramp at Carroll Canyon Road.
