Petco Park will be transformed into a Holiday Wonderland over three weekends this December, the Padres have announced.

The event will include special lighting throughout the concourse of the ballpark, along with various holiday activities beginning Dec. 5.

“It’s a priority for the Padres and the city of San Diego to make Petco Park a year-round facility, delivering on its promise to be more than a ballpark,” said Jeremy Horowitz, vice president of Petco Park events. “Holiday Wonderland will be an extraordinary event for this community, and we can’t wait for San Diegans to experience the magic of the holidays at Petco Park.”

He said the activities will include visits to Santa’s workshop, feeding live reindeer, exploring Candyland and riding trains.

Admission will be $15 for adults and $10 for children. Military, group and event discounts will be available, according to the Padres.

Ticket information and purchasing is online at the Padres website. Tickets, once purchased, will be good for any date the wonderland is open, team officials said.

Communities throughout San Diego and the region host holiday parades and events, but perhaps the most prominent is December Nights, an annual celebration at Balboa Park. It is scheduled the weekend of Dec. 5, the first days Petco will host Holiday Wonderland. That event is free.
