High pressure building over the Four Corners area Wednesday is expected to bring hotter weather to San Diego County, especially in the inland areas, forecasters said.

A National Weather Service heat advisory is set to take effect for the inland areas at 11 a.m. Thursday and will extend until 9 p.m. Friday.

Highest temperatures will generally be found east of Interstate 15, with lower elevation mountain areas in the upper 90’s and the lower deserts eclipsing the 110 mark.

The offshore waters will see windy conditions through Thursday morning, and a shallow marine layer will keep the coastal areas cool.

Weather service forecasters said hot weather can be stressful for people and pets if precautions are not taken. Kids and pets must not be left unattended in vehicles because temperatures inside can quickly rise to lethal levels.
