The National Weather Service forecast Saturday calls for periods of strong gusty west winds through early evening due to a low-pressure system moving inland through Southern California.

The weather service said a wind advisory would remain in effect through 9 p.m., and winds would be strongest in the mountains and deserts.

Winds were forecast to be 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Gusts over 60 mph were observed west of Julian.

Motorists were advised to be careful with high-profile vehicles and watch for broken tree limbs and other debris on roadways.
