Officials from San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency reported 6,573 new COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths Thursday.

The new data increased the county’s cumulative coronavirus totals to 681,885 cases, as the death toll rose to 4,643.

The number of new patients requiring hospital admission rose by 17, while doctors placed four more in intensive care.

The county is next set to release the number of recent COVID-19 tests administered on Friday. The seven-day rate of positives stood at 26.6% as of Sunday.

Meanwhile, California has logged a total of 7.6 million COVID cases, with 78,511 deaths. Nationally, there have been almost 73.4 million cases, and 878,325 deaths.
