The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reported 349 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday and eight more deaths for the pandemic disease.

Out of 13,386 test results reported to the county in the past day, just 2.6% were positive, and the 14-day rolling average of positive tests ticked down to 3.1%.

“Our percentage of positives continues generally trending down. That is encouraging,” said Supervisor Nathan Fletcher at the county’s weekly briefing on the pandemic.

The latest victims of COVID-19 were five women and three men aged from their 50s to 80s.

With Wednesday’s data, the total number of cases rose to 264,097 and the death toll edged up to 3,413.
