SDSU Global Campus has organized a series of free online courses on artificial intelligence that explore the advantages and disadvantages of using A.I. in various job markets.

SDSU Global Campus’ Career Skills Institute, beginning Friday, will present the “Expert Series: Unlock AI Productivity at Work” as a resource for local professionals with an interest in learning how to navigate A.I. technology and use it to maximize productivity in their fields.

According to a recent study by Microsoft and LinkedIn’s 2024 Work Trends Report, 66% of leaders stated that they wouldn’t hire someone without AI skills, while 71% preferred hiring a less experienced candidate with AI skills over a more experienced one without them.

To help applicants adapt to the modern workforce, SDSU’s “Expert Series” will focus on providing the necessary skills candidates need to compete in the San Diego region.

The first session begins at noon Friday with Michael Todasco, a visiting fellow from SDSU’s James Silberrad Brown Center for Artificial Intelligence.

The first class will be hosted on LinkedIn Live to discuss the impact A.I. has on business, automation and efficiency, as well as the obstacles created by its adoption. Currently, 180 attendees have signed up for the event.

All participants will be surveyed to help determine the topic of upcoming classes, including the second class on May 16. To join this week’s virtual session, register through LinkedIn here.
