
More than 300 students will be attending the third annual Careers in Public Safety event scheduled Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Marina Village Conference Center.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department is participating in the free event that targets students from San Diego and Imperial counties.
Other agencies participating include the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, and the San Diego County Probation Department.
During the event, students will be participating in breakout sessions that include demonstrations of bomb squad equipment, lifeguard equipment, K-9 demonstrations, and Homeland Security investigative techniques. Information about local educational opportunities will also be presented.
