On Jan. 26 there will be a grand opening of the new Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Library and participate in the Book Pass.

Prior to the library’s official opening, hundreds of library supporters will line the seven-block stretch of West Washington Street between the current library location and the new one to pass the final books into the new facility.

The Book Pass will begin at 9 a.m. and the ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow at 10 a.m. with a community celebration throughout the day. Book Pass participants will receive a commemorative scarf (while supplies last), plus coffee and doughnuts.

The new library facility is located on the site of the old IBEW building on the corner of West Washington and Front Streets.
