U.S. News & World Report‘s widely followed university ranking posted top grades for graduate schools at UC San Diego and the University of San Diego.

The rankings, released March 20, listed the following schools and programs:

  • UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering  — No. 12 in the nation with its Department of Bioengineering ranking no. 2
  • UC San Diego School of Medicine —  No. 22 in the nation among research-intensive programs and no. 17 for primary care
  • University of San Diego‘s MBA program — 79th in the nation and the only full-time MBA program to rank in San Diego

“We are pleased UC San Diego continues to earn praise as a groundbreaking institution for education and research that directly benefits economies, health care, the environment and our society as a whole,” said Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla. “Our university’s strengths across diverse disciplines are possible because of our scholars and changemakers who thrive on taking risks to create real-world solutions.”

“It is gratifying to see the success of our students and alumni recognized by U.S. News as we continuously strive to create a distinctive global MBA program in the country,” said USD School of Business Dean Jaime Alonso Gómez.

UC San Diego also ranked highly in the social sciences, coming in 4th nationally among Ph.D. programs in political science.
