UC San Diego has named Tod Bannister, an experienced fund-raiser, as associate athletics director for corporate partnerships and development.
Bannister generated over $3.2 million in annual contributions and assisted with fundraising efforts for the $28 million Fertitta Football Complex at University of Nevada Las Vegas, UCSD said Thursday.
He was at UNLV in 2014-17, first as director of sponsorships and Development for the Rebels’ Alumni Association, before being promoted to associate athletics director. Bannister will also supervise several sports programs at UCSD.
Earlier, Bannister was at UC Berkeley (2007-10) as executive director of the Bear Backer Organization and Senior Major Gift Officer. He moved to UCLA in 2010, he was director of the Wooden Athletic Fund.
A native of Sacramento, Bannister is a graduate of CSU Sacramento, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.
At the same time, UCSD announced that Rachel Wall will be compliance coordinator and Nick Feller has been promoted to associate athletics director for marketing, branding and fan engagement.
Wall spent the previous two years in the same role at Oregon State. She ensured OSU met NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations, and reviewed the initial eligibility certification process for both domestic and international student-athletes.
For the past 10 years, Feller served as UC San Diego’s assistant athletics director for marketing and ticket sale.
In his new role, he is responsible for branding, social media, game-day atmosphere, marketing and ticketing aspects for UCSD’s 23 intercollegiate sports programs. Feller is also a sport administrator for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs.
