A fourth-year medical student died Monday in a suspected suicide at UC San Diego, authorities reported.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue department was notified about a medical emergency involving a 26-year-old man at the UCSD Medical Education-Telemedicine Building about 8:45 a.m., SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said.
The subject of the call was pronounced dead at the scene about 15 minutes later.
Campus police told medics they were investigating the fatality as an apparent suicide, Swanson said.
