With parts of the county experiencing triple-digit temperatures, the San Diego Unified School District said Monday its schools that are not fully air-conditioned will schedule a second consecutive minimum day on Tuesday.
A National Weather Service heat advisory will be in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Forecasters said highs would be in the 80s along the coast, in the 90s a few miles inland and more than 100 degrees in the inland valleys.
Complete lists of schools that will have a regular day and those that will have a minimum day are posted online, as is information about the district’s hot weather policy.
The district said bus schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the minimum day schedules. It is also partnering with the YMCA to provide after-school options for affected schools.
