Open registration will begin in two weeks for the San Diego Community College District‘s fall semester.
The district said students interested in taking classes this fall at San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges should apply now so they can receive an appointment beginning Aug. 4. The district expects to see higher demand for classes because of a forecast three percent increase in enrollment.
The district has hired 90 new full-time faculty members and will add more than 400 course sections this academic year.
“There’s never been a better time to pursue an education,” said Lynn Neault, interim president at San Diego City College. “Students will return this fall to find more classes, new faculty, and new facilities at many of our campuses.”
The 16-week fall semester starts Aug. 18. Classes are $46 a unit. Students can register by visiting the district’s website at www.sdccd.edu. Registration information is also available on the college and Continuing Education websites.
The San Diego district is the second largest of California’s 72 community college districts. Its schools offer associate degrees and certificates in occupational programs that prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges or entry-level jobs.
