Chula Vista High’s student council was one of just four in the state to be named winners of the Gold Council of Excellence Award this school year by the National Association of Student Councils.
“We are proud to be the first school in our district to achieve the award,” read a message on the school’s web site Tuesday.

According to Chula Vista High, the campus Associated Student Body was eligible for the recognition because members completed 56 arduous, tasks, including leadership training, spirit activities, student recognition programs, school and community service projects, and financial planning.
Some of the ASB’s campus projects included “21 Days of Sparta” and ”Bring a Veteran to School.”
The other California honorees were Murrietta Valley High, Vista Murrietta High and Quartz Hill High.
