
A 31-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle in University City on Sunday evening, police said Monday.
The collision took place around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, when a 31-year-old driver of an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta struck the pedestrian as she was walking southbound from the center median of 4300 La Jolla Village Drive.
Police said the woman went into the driver’s path and was struck by the vehicle. She was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, the San Diego Police Department said.
Her name has not yet been released.
Driving under the influence was not believed to have been a factor in the collision.
