Crews with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded Wednesday to a lithium-ion battery fire at a single-story commercial building in the Midway District.

The blaze was reported just after 5:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Houston Street, near Interstate 8.

CBS 8 reported 81 personnel responded to the fire, including five trucks, eight engines, a fire investigator and HazMat teams. A bomb squad was also at the scene.

Details on injuries or property damage were not immediately available.
