A trash truck struck and killed a man Tuesday in a commercial area near the intersection of Interstate 15 and State Route 78, authorities reported.
The traffic fatality took place shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Quince Street in Escondido, a short distance from Norlak Avenue, according to police.
The unidentified pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.
