Authorities Tuesday publicly identified a 60-year-old woman who was killed last weekend in a collision on a rural road near Sycuan Casino.
Marie Anderson of El Cajon was heading west on Dehesa Road in the Dehesa area at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday when the 2018 Nissan Sentra she was driving veered to the left into the path of an oncoming 2007 Honda Pilot just east of Sloane Canyon Road, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and California Highway Patrol.
The Sentra crashed into the SUV, then struck an eastbound 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck, causing it to overturn in the roadway, CHP public-affairs Officer Jasmine Lopez said.
Anderson died at the scene of the accident.
The drivers of the Honda and the Ford — El Cajon women ages 77 and 42, respectively — and a passenger in the latter vehicle suffered minor injuries in the wreck, according to the Highway Patrol.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” Lopez said Tuesday. “It is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the crash.”
