A vehicle struck and killed an elderly pedestrian in a South Bay parking structure Tuesday, authorities said.
The pickup truck, driven by a man in his 50s, was rounding a corner in the building in the 300 block of H Street when it hit the woman shortly after 11:30 a.m., according a Chula Vista police press release.
Paramedics took her to a hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead, Sgt. Anthony Molina said.
He withheld the identity of the woman, described as being in her 80s, pending family notification.
Both the woman and the driver are Chula Vista residents.
Drugs, alcohol and high speed are not believed to be factors in the incident “at this time,” police said.
