A fire broke out Friday at a three-story building believed to be under construction in Escondido, but no injuries were immediately reported.

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. Thursday at Sheridan Avenue, according to the Escondido Fire Department.

Fire officials said crews were on the scene through the night to monitor the blaze and prevent further damage.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
