The North Coastal Sheriff’s Station is seeking the public’s help to find the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Encinitas last month.

Just before 7 p.m. Jan. 19, deputies responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the 900 block of North Coast Highway 101. The 66-year-old woman who was struck died at the hospital.

An investigation by Sheriff’s Traffic Deputies found the suspect stopped briefly before fleeing the scene in a 2019-2023 gray Audi Q3.

The car may have damage to the lower left area of the front grille or be missing parts from the grille.
