A car struck and killed a pedestrian on the I-805 near the U.S.-Mexico border early Monday.
The white Honda Accord hit the person on the southbound side of the freeway at San Ysidro Blvd. at about 6 a.m. Monday, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to Onscene.Media, the person reportedly walked into lanes and the driver had no time to stop the car.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at a hospital later in the morning.
The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
