A 27-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed in an accident involving another vehicle in Oceanside Wednesday, authorities said.
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near Douglas Drive and North River Road, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
A 33-year-old Oceanside man behind the wheel of a silver Ford F-150 made a left turn into a gas station, and the motorcyclist, driving a black Kawasaki sport bike southbound on Douglas, struck the passenger side of the truck.
The rider of the motorcycle was ejected. Medics took him to Tri-City Medical Center, where he died shortly afterward, officials said.
The driver of the truck remained at scene and was cooperative.
The department said the speed of the motorcycle is considered a factor in the collision, but alcohol/drug influence was not found to be a factor for the driver of the F-150.
The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.
Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call Officer Kevin Lissner at 760-435-4651.
