Authorities Monday identified a 40-year-old construction worker who was killed over the weekend in an accident involving heavy machinery at a work site near Mission Bay.
Cesar Abarca Carillo of San Diego was struck by an excavator at the construction site in the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics transported the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, the agency reported.
