A 54-year-old motorist died this week in a solo traffic crash on a rural highway near Lake Henshaw, authorities reported Friday.
The Lakeside resident was headed east on state Route 76 in the Morettis Junction area shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday when the 2014 Toyota Sienna she was driving veered off the roadway about a mile and a half northwest of state Route 79, struck several trees and overturned, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman died at the scene, CHP public-affairs Officer Jared Grieshaber said. Her name has not been released.
Investigators do not believe that intoxication was a factor in the crash, Grieshaber said.
