Authorities on Wednesday publicly named a man found dead last week behind a Mission Valley grocery store.

Drevon Butler-Warren was found outside the Food 4 Less market in the 7700 block of Hazard Center Drive at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police. Officers had been responding to a report of an unconscious person.

Butler-Warren was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Lou Maggi said.

A ruling on the cause of Butler-Warren’s death remains on hold pending completion of postmortem examinations.
