
The son of a prominent former local Republican Party leader was arrested Thursday on a felony charge.
Law enforcement officials, including members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, closed the 11000 block of Ann Arbor Lane to make the arrest.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department lists Victor Erik Krvaric, 24, as having been booked into San Diego Central Jail shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday. He is accused of possessing an assault weapon.
Bail was set at $25,000 with arraignment scheduled for the afternoon of Sept. 26, He was released shortly after 8:30 p.m.
His father, Tony Krvaric, was chair of the Republican Party of San Diego County for 14 years, until January 2021.
Victor Krvaric, according to KPBS, drew attention two years ago when he prepared an application to become part of a hate group. The material ended up being posted online. He had been a Marine Reservist; the Marine Corps followed up by launching a probe that ultimately ended his military stint.
