Another school in San Diego received a shooting threat Thursday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
In a statement emailed to the Times of San Diego, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department said that Olive Pierce Middle School received a threatening message this morning. Deputies immediately responded, searching the school while students were put on limited lockdown.
The investigation found no evidence of any threat, and no students or staff were injured. Out of an abundance of caution, the deputies also conducted security sweeps at Ramona High School and Ramona Community Montessori School and provided extra patrols at all three campuses until the end of the school day.
The sheriff’s office said that the threat was unfounded and there is no danger to the Ramona community at this time.
There were two other shooting scares at San Diego schools this week, with one threat resulting in the arrest of a 12 year old. These reports come at a time where school officials across the nation are witnessing a spike in threats.
It is currently unknown whether this morning’s incident is related to the other threats made this week.
