A man wearing a motorcycle helmet was found dead Tuesday on eastbound state Route 94 in Casa de Oro and the CHP is investigating whether he may have been a passenger who fell off a motorcycle.
Area residents reported seeing the man down on the right shoulder of the highway near Sweetwater Springs Boulevard just after 3:30 a.m., according to OnScene.TV.
Paramedics started CPR and continued for 30 minutes, but the man was declared dead, the video news service said. Scuff marks on the back of his helmet could have been from the fall, they said.
The CHP told OnScene.TV they searched for the motorcycle but it could not be found.
