A brush fire that burned 27 acres in Jamul was fully contained Saturday.
Units were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. Friday to reports of a fire in a rural area of San Diego County at milepost 6 at Proctor Valley Road, according to Cal Fire officials.
“Fire containment is now at 100%. We finished cleaning up this morning and everyone is off the incident,” a public information officer with Cal Fire told City News Service on Saturday.
Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state were flying fire suppression missions as conditions allowed. A total of 120 personnel were assigned to the fire, including 10 engines, three crews, two water tenders and one dozer, officials said.
No evacuations or injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
