Authorities Wednesday publicly identified the 58-year-old shipyard worker killed in an industrial accident at his workplace alongside San Diego Bay.
Coworkers responding to a loud crash and cries for help shortly before 1 p.m. Monday found JC Adame of San Diego trapped underneath a piece of steel foundation material on a concrete floor at the NASSCO plant on East Harbor Drive, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fellow employees lifted the metal component off of Adame and performed CPR on him prior to the arrival of paramedics, who took over the lifesaving efforts before pronouncing the victim dead at the scene.
