Sheriff’s detectives located a San Marcos burglary suspect in Temecula Friday, and found items, including designer bags, allegedly taken during the break-in.

The detectives served a search warrant in the 43000 block of Kensington Place in Temecula, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. They found several items in the house said to have been stolen during a residential burglary in an unidentified area of San Marcos on an unspecified date.

The bags, officials said, are valued at more than $5,000.

Investigators arrested the resident of the home, Katie Rhew, during a traffic stop of a Chevrolet Suburban two blocks from the house, with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies.

In a search of the Suburban, detectives said they recovered two packages that allegedly had been stolen in the unincorporated area of De Luz.

The packages were returned to their owners. Those thefts remain under investigation.

Rhew was booked into the Vista jail on suspicion of residential burglary, possession of illegal drugs and identity theft.

A passenger in the Suburban, Gina O’Neill, 38, was arrested and released. She faces an unrelated charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
