A felon was behind bars Thursday, facing numerous charges after deputies seized a large cache of weapons from a North County home.
At around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station were called to a home in the 900 block of Sugarbush Terrace in unincorporated Vista to investigate a restraining order violation, Sheriff’s officials said.
During the investigation, deputies found that Sean Christiansen, 39, a convicted felon, lived at the home. They also discovered Christiansen was allegedly in possession of several firearms and ammunition.
Based on this information, Sheriff’s detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and after serving it found more than 35 rifles and handguns.
Deputies also found body armor, various firearm parts, illegal high-capacity magazines, thousands of rounds of ammunition, firearms manufacturing equipment and approximately five ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.
Christiansen was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm/ammunition/stun gun, possession of an illegal firearm, possession of an illegal weapon (expandable baton) and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information regarding this incident, please call the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office at (858) 565-5200.
