The fire began shortly before 4:30 p.m. off the eastern end of Sloane Canyon Road, near Loveland Reservoir in the unincorporated Dehesa area, according to Cal Fire.
It took ground crews and air tankers and water-dropping helicopters a little more than an hour to halt the spread of the flames.
