A man was hospitalized in critical condition early Friday morning when two sedans collided at an intersection in Chula Vista, police reported.
Just after 3 a.m., a Nissan broadsided a Honda at the intersection of Telegraph Canyon Road and Paseo Ladera, according to Chula Vista Police.
The driver of Nissan was trapped in the wreckage until firefighters were able to remove him. He is hospitalized in critical condition.
The 19-year-old driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
The names of the two drivers were not immediately released, and the collision remains under investigation. Police asked anyone with information to call the traffic bureau at 619-409-3817.
