A 67-year-old pedestrian was injured after she was struck by a vehicle in the Emerald Hills neighborhood, the San Diego Police Department said Wednesday.
The collision happened at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday when a 33-year-old man was driving a 2005 GMC Yukon westbound at 5100 Lenox Drive, SDPD Officer John Buttle said. The sun was in the driver’s eyes and as he reached for the visor, his vehicle struck the pedestrian at a slow speed, about 10 to 15 mph.
She was taken to a hospital with a fracture to her left ankle and a laceration to her scalp, the officer said.
SDPD Traffic Division officers responded to the scene and were investigating the collision.
