San Diego police are investigating two early morning commercial burglaries in Redwood Village Friday that are believed to be related.
Officers responded to an alarm in the University Square Shopping Center on University Avenue, according to OnScene.TV, and found that someone had entered an empty business and then broke through the wall to gain entry to the pharmacy next door.
After taking a K-9 into the pharmacy, they found that the back of the store had been ransacked and the cash register opened.
Around 4 a.m. the officers responded to another alarm less than a block to the east, in the 6000 block of University.
Three people were caught on camera breaking through two security doors in the rear of a smoke and vape shop. It was determined that approximately $1000 of merchandise had been stolen.
A person from the store shared footage from his cell phone that showed a suspect wearing a fluorescent vest working on the doors, and two others waiting. One of the others trades places to take over forcing entry through the doors.
The trio wore hoodies and one held a backpack. Their faces could not be seen.
