Firefighters were battling a structure fire that broke out in a residential neighborhood of Escondido Saturday.
The fire was reported around 12:40 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Valley Grove Lane, the Escondido Police Department told City News Service.
The blaze extended from the attic to the roof and other parts of the residence.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
