A 20-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe injuries after driving onto the sidewalk and colliding with a light pole in the Sorrento Valley neighborhood of San Diego Saturday.
The collision occurred around 7 a.m. Saturday, when the lone rider of a 2019 Triumph motorcycle traveling eastbound failed to navigate a curve in the roadway at 5800 Valley Blvd., near Canyon Overlook Sunset Point, according to the San Diego Police Department.
“The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he was treated for multiple brain bleeds, collapsed lung, kidney damage, spinal injuries, fractures to his right arm and pelvis,” the department reported.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and the reason he lost control of the bike has not been determined. No further information was immediately available.
