Three people were arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Chula Vista, authorities said Sunday.
The checkpoint was conducted from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday in the 1500 block of East H Street. A total of 2,532 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 519 motorists stopped for secondary evaluations, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
Seven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed, four drivers were asked to perform field sobriety tests, two were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and another driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana, officials said.
