Firefighters battled a dumpster fire that broke out at a commercial site in Oceanside early Saturday.
Units were dispatched at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and arrived a few minutes later to 4061 Oceanside Blvd., according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
They found a large dumpster on fire inside an alcove of the commercial building. A single sprinkler in the alcove was activated by the fire, limiting the potential damage.
Crews entered adjacent businesses to evacuate due to smoke and ensure that there was no water damage. The fire was knocked down within seven minutes.
A total of 28 personnel were assigned to the fire, including three ladder trucks, five engines and one medic, officials said.
Three fire investigators were sent to the site, and personnel from the city of Vista, San Diego Gas & Electric and the Oceanside Police Department assisted in the effort.
No injuries or evacuations were immediately reported. The cause of the fire was unknown.
