A power outage left several thousand homes and businesses without electrical service Friday in Normal Heights, North Park and University Heights.
The blackout struck about 6:15 a.m. Friday, knocking out power to 2,086 San Diego Gas & Electric customers, the utility advised.
Service was expected to be restored to all the affected addresses by early afternoon, according to SDG&E.
The unplanned outage resulted from “a need to repair SDG&E equipment,” the power company reported.
