A police chase of a carjacking suspect ended in a National City car crash Monday afternoon, with at least two people taken to the hospital.

The car was stolen from the Iris Avenue trolley station, when a man approached a woman sitting in a Ford Mustang, reportedly flashed an official-looking badge at her, and then pulled her from the car.

Police spotted the car leaving a parking garage on Imperial Avenue a few hours later and chased it into National City, where the driver struck a truck trying to make a left turn at E. 4th Avenue and I Street.

The car then went into two parked vehicles.

The suspect, who was not injured, was arrested. A woman who was a passenger in the Mustang was taken to a local hospital with a broken leg, while the driver of the truck that had been trying to make a left turn was taken to a hospital, apparently with minor injuries.

The woman who was initially pulled out of the Mustang was uninjured.
