A late-morning fire gutted a residence Thursday at a mobile home park near the eastern reaches of Camp Pendleton, displacing five people, authorities reported.
The non-injury blaze in the 200 block of West Aviation Road in Fallbrook erupted shortly before 9:30 a.m., according to North County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters arrived in about two minutes and had the flames under control roughly five minutes later, NCFPD Capt. John Choi said.
The cause of the blaze — which destroyed the trailer home and forced a several-hour closure of West Aviation Road between South Main Avenue and South Mission Road — was under investigation.
The American Red Cross was called in to help the five people who lived in the residence arrange for emergency shelter, Choi said.
