Two men were shot and killed Friday night in an apparent gang attack during a baby shower around the pool in an apartment complex near the Grantville trolley station.

San Diego Police were called to the complex in the 4500 block of Alvarado Canyon Road shortly before 9 p.m. where they found two victims suffering from multiple wounds.

Lt. Jud Campbell said the two victims, whom he described as black men in their 20s and 30s, were rushed to hospitals but later pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene told OnScene.TV that the assailants were gang members and were all wearing red clothing. They said the gathering was as a baby shower.

Police have reportedly arrested two suspects, but an additional two are being sought.

The trolley station was closed for several hours during the homicide investigation.
